Privacy Policy for Barcode Generator

This privacy policy explains how the Android application Barcode Generator (package name com.techomates.barcodegenertor), published by Techomates ("we", "us"), handles your information.

The short version

Barcode Generator does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. The app does not request the Android INTERNET permission, which means it has no technical ability to send anything anywhere. Everything you create stays on your device.

Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive or store any personal data. Specifically:

• There is no account, sign-up or login.
• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or any contact details.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not collect device identifiers or an advertising ID.
• We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking services of any kind.
• The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics software development kits.

Information stored on your device

The app saves the following data locally on your device only. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

• Barcode history. The barcodes you generate - the format, the value you entered and the style you chose - are saved in a database on your device so you can find them again. You can delete any single entry, or delete all of them at once, using the "Clear all" option on the History screen.
• Your settings. Preferences such as your default barcode format, default colours and theme are stored locally on your device.
• Barcode images you save. When you choose "Save PNG", the image is written to your device's own picture storage, in the same way any photo is. That file belongs to you and is managed by your device, not by us.
• Temporary files for sharing. When you choose "Share", the app writes a temporary image file to its own private cache folder so that the Android share sheet can pass it to the app you select. These files stay on your device.

Uninstalling the app removes its database, its settings and its cache. Images you deliberately saved to your picture gallery are not removed by uninstalling, because they are your files.

Permissions the app requests

The app declares a single Android permission:

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, limited to Android 9.0 and older. It is used only to save a barcode image to your picture gallery when you ask the app to save one. On Android 10 and newer the app uses scoped storage and requests no permission at all.

The app does not request internet access, camera, location, contacts, microphone or phone permissions.

Android backup

The app allows Android's standard Auto Backup feature. If backup is enabled in your device settings, Android may copy the app's local data - including your barcode history and your settings - to your own Google Drive backup. This is a feature of the Android operating system and your Google account; the backup belongs to you, is covered by Google's privacy policy, and we have no access to it. You can turn Android backup off in your device settings.

Sharing your information

We do not share your information, because we do not have any. The app has no servers and makes no network requests.

If you use the "Share" function, you choose which app receives the barcode image. Once you send it to another app - a messaging app, an email client, a cloud drive - that image is handled by that app under its own privacy policy, not ours.

Children's privacy

The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because we collect no data at all, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal information from children of any age.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf. All data the app creates is under your direct control on your own device, and you can erase it at any time by deleting individual history entries, using "Clear all", clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will be reflected in the app's Google Play listing.
